Cold is coming are you ready???
Protect your water filter system from freezing:
• Check to see if the drain line is clear of any debris that would not allow the backwash water to flow freely out the end. Ice can form and cause filter to no function properly.
• Keep the filter area at a safe temp no lower than 40 degrees.
Check your well head:
• Make sure the insulation is not damp or wet. Replace with new dry insulation
• Make sure the water tap at the well is turned off completely and there are no drips.
• Wrap any exposed pipes with insulation. This is where your well is more venerable to freezing and bursting.
• Secure the well covering by mounding dirt or mulch around the outer edges. This will keep moisture out and critters from nesting.

There you go, just a few things to check that WILL save you money in costly repairs and the inconvenience of No water this winter.
